Technology has had a major impact on my life. Most of the things in my life that I do are made easy by technology. Without it, it would be very hard to do a lot. I own a cell phone, computer, car, and many other forms of technology. There is one form of technology that I can't see myself without, its my cell phone. Some people are able to do without them but to me it would be a huge inconvience not to have one. I owned my first cell phone when I was in the 7th grade and I've had one ever since. They have really evolved from back then and now you can do just about anything from a cell phone, like emailing, web surfing, instant messaging, record videos and on my phone I also have a mp3 player and radio. I wont be surprised if that in the future people can have video conferences from their cell phones. Technology is constantly being improved on and invented to make our everyday lives easier so that we can save time and energy and in some cases money. Thats exactly what it does for me. In cases where I have to write papers or do extensive research, a computer and the internet can save alot of time and you will be able to navigate alot easier aslo. When I have to write a paper, I just hop on the computer, go to the program and type away. Typing a paper is alot easier than writing one out. If you make a mistake you can just backspace to delete it and then correct it. It's so easy and simple. Using a computer can make writing papers a breeze at times. If I didnt have a computer I know I wouldnt like reseaching or writing very much.
I love that technology is advancing and becoming more and more enhanced. I love to play video games, and video games are one of the ways that show how far technology has actually come. Coming all the way from the game Pong to games on the Wii where your own movements re-enact the movements onto the video games, that to me truly shows that the world has come a long way. I think my life without video games would be ok but a bit boring lol. Another way that technology has made a positive impact on my life is through banking and paying bills. I can do all of my banking online and monitor my accounts to make sure there isn't any fraud going on with them. I can tranfer money, pay bills, and even open a new account if I wanted to. I think that is a good advancement in technology, because it would take a lot up alot of time to constantly go to the bank to make sure everythings how it should be with your account, and with calling, it won't be able to give you specific details that you would want to know. I mean its still ok to go there and call but its alot easier to just look it up and you will be given more information. Paying bills is made easy through technology too. You can call or send your payments in but speaking to someone usually takes a while because in most cases you get put on hold for long periods of time or in some cases the representative has no idea on how to help you. Personally, I do not like being on hold, so if the company has a website that offers your bill to be paid online I usually do it that way instead. I enjoy technology, I hope that it keeps getting better and making our lives easier.

Cyberculture And Me
I know that I am a part of the cyber cluture. There isnt a day that I go without using a computer, whether it is for just checking emails or surfing the vast amounts of websites. I was first introduced to computers when I was about 6 or 7 years old, it was my moms work computer, but she let me play the few games it had and paint from time to time. As I got older and computers were becoming more advanced and popular we invested in our own home computer, on it I played cd-rom games, and other games that it had on the system. I thought it was so cool that you could just insert a disk, download the information and have fun for hours...lol. I was still a kid then so just being able to play games was fun to me. Overtime I learned more and more about computers as I began to do my own troubleshooting and setting up equipment and installing software. The first time I signed into the internet was the day I knew computers would be in my life for forever. I was about 15 or 16 years old when we first had america online. I spent countless hours on the web playing games, chatting, searching through different websites, just everything under the sun. Ever since then I have had a computer and the internet, but now I have dsl and wireless connection so that makes it a little easier.
Computer are a part of my everyday life. I use the internet for school, research, emailing, site surfing, and just whatever. I sometimes use it as a phone book, or use it to get directions for one place to another. Since I've become alot older and mature and the world isnt as safe as what it was before, I dont go into chat rooms, or talk to anyone over the internet unless I have personally met and know that person already. The internet has effected me both positive and negatively. I used to buy items off of ebay but as more and more people started to get scammed by the sellers I backed away from using ebay alot. I still may search for some things that I would like to purchase but am a bit skeptical about actually buying them. I would hate to send my hard earned money to someone thinking i will get something in return and nothing ever shows up. Especially if I wouldnt be able to get a refund. So I do not buy anything from the web unless it is from of the official site of that company. On the positive side of the internet, you are able to find information easier and faster than you would through mail or actually going to a place. I use the internet to pay a few bills that I have and I am happy to say that I havent had a problem with that yet. So I am truly thankful that computers and the internet were created. I think it makes life alot easier if you know how to use them correctly and if you dont its not always hard to learn.

Popular culture group work
We believe Popular Culture is trends, and what people are led to think is cool or in style. Its is usually advertiseds to young adults, through television, magazines, radio, and even newspapers. When the popular culture effects the young adults it also effects the children that are younger than them because they tend to follow their brothers and sisters trends. Populare culture is usually defined as clothing styles, shoes, music, but also spreads through televison shows and radio stations. Television distributes popular cluture the most since that is what most people look at the most.

What is Pop Culture?
I believe that popular culture has shaped different aspects of every ones life. Even though everyone is different in their own unique way, we still tend to share many similarities in the things we do, to the things we wear, down to our speech. I try not to "jump on the wagon" as they call it and do what everyone else does, but I still fall prey to certain things at times. Popular Culture has somewhat guided my sense of clothing and the types of music that I listen to. At times I may see clothing on television that appeal to me, then go out to the stores to buy something as close to what I had seen. Sounds silly but true. Sometimes even the hairstyles I wear are imitated from some of my favorite female artists, actresses, and models.
Television I believe is a major source of spreading Popular Culture. Whether it was seen on the news or a TV reality show, trends are spread the fastest by this way through mass media. Mass media is usually the sole distributor of what people think is good or bad in the world. The celebrities and even infamous people have guided our minds into how we should or should not live, dress, and what to listen to, by their actions and clothing styles that they wear. In return guides us on how to choose the friends that we have, because most people that are friends have a lot if not all things in common with each other. I'm generally kind to everyone I meet, but most of my best friends and closest family members all share the same view on the things that I value and think are good or bad. We are most attracted to people that share the same view on certain things as we do, I think thats how most people usually choose their friends.
I believe Popular Culture has defined this generation dramatically. So many fads have come and gone throughout the years that have declined or escalated music sells, clothing styles, and what not. Teenagers are effected the most i believe by pop culture, they want to be like the singers and rappers of the world, because they think they have the best lives. So they try their best to imitate they stlyes and images, in order to look cool to others. For some kids its an escape from their reality which can be good, but in some cases kids take it too far and end up becoming bad. Everyone should just be themselves because in the end thats all you really have is yourself.
